Hey, I’m CJ!

After my time as an aerial navigator in the US Marines, I spent many years as a professional skydiver, teaching students who shared my passion for the air. From guiding those who trusted me with their lives to helping dog owners with their beloved pets, my dedication to helping others has always been strong.

Driven by my passion for teaching dogs to listen even amidst life's toughest distractions, I now work as a professional dog trainer in Richmond.

My goal is to help people improve their lives with their dogs, so they can enjoy the many rewards of a great relationship with man's best friend.

Why Choose Us?

I remember standing at my booth during the Home & Garden show in Richmond, speaking with dog owners who were frustrated. They told me they had "done everything" – group classes, private lessons, board and train sessions with different trainers – yet still faced challenges with their dogs.

They asked me, "What makes you different? Why should I try again? We've lost hope and think dog training is broken."

First off, that's for you to decide. But let me tell you what I've heard and how we're different.

Yes, your dog learned some commands, but you still have issues. Your dog still jumps on people, has potty challenges, counter surfs, can't walk properly on the leash, lunges at distractions, or maybe shows aggression and leash reactivity.

The fact that you're still searching shows your commitment to your dog. You know your dog is smart and has potential, and we see that too.

Your Commitment,
Our Solution

Whether you're just starting or trying to finally crack the dog training code, we can help. We're unique in Richmond because we don't stick to one training style. We use a balanced approach that includes both positive motivation and proper, humane corrections.

We teach dogs what to do, but we also teach them what not to do. This way, we communicate the complete picture to our dogs.

With this balanced approach, dogs make fewer mistakes, and there's less need for constant correction or treats. Imagine having a dog who WANTS to be obedient.

When your dog is happier, you’re happier too. Let me and the rest of the Intelligent K9 team help you create a better life for you and your dog.
